Hardy GCB. Captain, afterwards Admiral, Hardy had
close associations with Burton Bradstock having been apprenticed,
at the age of 12, to Captain Roberts who lived in "The
Grove"now "Grove House"”. His birthplace
Kingston Russell House and the family home at Portesham are
other local connections.
