St. Mary's Church C. 1945. Here is a typical country parish church with Saxon roots, surrounded until recently, by gravestones and vast yew trees "leaning down low", together with mature copper beech about 100 feet high. Apparently, the wood from the yew trees was used to make bows. Church C. 1945
